Welcome to Lake Jackson Intermediate's Counselor Corner. As an individual who was born and raised right here in Lake Jackson, it is both an honor and a privilege to be your 8th grade counselor this year! I am a proud 2004 graduate of Brazoswood HS who went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Sam Houston State University in 2008 and a Master of Education in Counseling and Development with a Specialization in Professional School Counseling from Lamar University in December of 2020. I spent several years in industry before answering the call to secondary education 10 years ago. I have utilized my 6-12 Business Education certification to teach a wide variety of Career and Technology Education courses at both the high school and intermediate school levels for the past 9 years, with the first six being spent in Huffman ISD.

My goal as a School Counselor is the safety and well being of all students in as equitable a manner as possible through the development and implementation of a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program. I believe in high expectations in a safe and respectful learning environment that creates the space for students to push past their comfort zone and grow in their academic, career, and personal/social development. Through collaboration with stakeholders, I work diligently to ensure that the needs of all students are met with the most appropriate intervention.

I look forward to working with you and your child this year. If you have any questions please feel free to email or call.  #BeFierce

Hello Panthers and Panther Parents,

I am excited for the opportunity that has been given to me to work alongside the staff at Lake Jackson Intermediate to provide ongoing support for students to ensure their overall success in their time at LJI. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin as well as my Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling and Guidance from the University of Texas at Brownsville.  I bring with me over 8 years of experience as a mental health professional with 7 of those years being in the healthcare industry and the other time working in the school setting.

My aim as the intervention counselor is to help students in learning to gain an awareness and understanding of their mental and emotional well-being that can play a role in their success as a student. I truly believe that the middle school years can be one of the most challenging times and having as many resources as possible to help students navigate through this journey can be extremely beneficial.  I will strive to be a valuable asset to students by providing services focused on identifying, processing, and managing stressors that are negatively impacting their mental health.  Providing a safe environment mentally, physically, socially, and emotionally is vital to increasing the likelihood that the student thrives in academics as well as other areas of their lives which I know is a shared goal by every employee her at Lake Jackson Intermediate.
