Welcome to Lake Jackson Intermediate's Counselor Corner. As an individual who was born and raised right here in Lake Jackson, it is both an honor and a privilege to be your 8th grade counselor this year! I am a proud 2004 graduate of Brazoswood HS who went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Sam Houston State University in 2008. I spent several years in industry before answering the call to secondary education 10 years ago. I have utilized my 6-12 Business Education certification to teach a wide variety of Career and Technology Education courses at both the high school and intermediate school levels for the past 9 years, with the first six being spent in Huffman ISD. I will graduate in December 2020 from Lamar University with a Master of Education in Counseling and Development with a Specialization in Professional School Counseling.

My goal as a School Counselor is the safety and well being of all students in as equitable a manner as possible through the development and implementation of a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program. I believe in high expectations in a safe and respectful learning environment that creates the space for students to push past their comfort zone and grow in their academic, career, and personal/social development. Through collaboration with stakeholders, I work diligently to ensure that the needs of all students are met with the most appropriate intervention.

I look forward to working with you and your child this year. If you have any questions please feel free to email or call.  We Are One!

I am delighted to be the 7th grade counselor at Lake Jackson Intermediate School.  This will be my 16th year in education.  I earned my Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Southern Wesleyan University, a Master's of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College and a Master's of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University.

My family relocated to Lake Jackson from South Carolina in 2015.  I am married and have 3 children. Our family enjoys spending time together by attending church, traveling, supporting our Clemson Tigers and being outdoors.
My goal as a counselor is to support growth and development through a comprehensive guidance program which focuses on the diverse personal/social, emotional and career needs of LJI students.  Please feel free to contact me at any time with your questions or concerns.  Open communication between home and school is crucial to student success. I look forward to working with you and your child during their time at Lake Jackson Intermediate School.
