LJI Celebrates Award-Winning Authors!

The Charlie Brown Initiative (CBI) invites students to reflect on the contest namesake and how his philanthropy and humanitarian work continues to impact Brazoria County and the entire state of Texas.

This year, four Lake Jackson Intermediate students received top honors for their stellar writing abilities. Our four young ladies were invited to read their essays at a ceremony that took place at the original Columbia Rosenwald School which has been restored and opened as a museum.

Receiving the Morris Richardson Award for Outstanding Historical Research was Makenna Perez, First place prize went to Paris Deleon, Second place to Makenna Arguello, and Third place to Anastasia Heil.
