Every spring, intermediate school choirs prepare and perform choral pieces for a panel of judges selected by the area UIL. They also perform an unfamiliar selection to demonstrate the groups ability to sing an unprepared arrangement. All 4 LJI choirs won an award at this year's UIL Concert and Sight-Reading contest held in Dickinson, March 1st and 2nd.
The Bel Canto Choir earned a First Division "Superior" rating in the Sight-Reading portion of the contest. The Bellissima Choir, Honor Choir, and The Manchoir all earned a "Sweepstakes" trophy for First Division ratings in both Concert and Sight-Reading.
We are very proud of all our LJI Choirs and the directors who give so much of their time to excel.
