Ms. Sheri King-Minter began her career in education as an 8th grade teacher at Freeport Intermediate School in 1998. She holds a Bachelors of Art in History / Political Science and a Masters in Educational Leadership, both from the University of Houston Clear Lake.

After many years of teacher leadership opportunities at Freeport Intermediate, Ms. Minter took a district level position in Pearland ISD, where she worked with teachers and students from 22 different campuses from Kindergarten to 12th grade.

Ms. Minter confessed she “very much missed all the daily interactions with the students”. She also stated she “missed seeing great teaching EVERYDAY” and “the energy and the culture that can only be found on a campus full of students and teachers passionate about making every day count”.  With this in mind, Ms. Minter “came back home, HOME to BISD and HOME to the Intermediate grade levels”.

Prior to being named Principal, Ms. Minter served Lake Jackson Intermediate as both an Assistant Principal and as the Dean of Instruction. She is always willing to share, and excited to talk about all the great things happening at LJI and of things yet to come. Ms. Minter believes that public schools are here to serve the whole community and welcomes partnerships with all.

Mrs. Halliday has spent the last 6 years at Brazosport High School as an Assistant Principal, and one year before that at Brazoswood as an instructional coach. She served 7 years as a high school classroom teacher in the Fort Worth area before moving here to the Brazosport area. She coached Swimming and diving for 5 years, was a class sponsor, and active in making sure her district was all that it could be. She also sponsored many student groups on various trips around the country. One thing that motivates Mrs. Halliday is her students and the desire to help them become whoever they want to be.

H
