Mrs. Roberts is starting her 21st year in public education, with the last 19 being in Brazosport ISD. Roberts began her career in BISD at Bess Brannen Elementary as a teacher, she then went on to serve as a campus Assessment Specialist, as the District Coordinator of Assessment and Accountability, as an Assistant Principal at Brazoswood High School, and since 2014, she has been serving as the Associate Principal at Brazoswood High School.

Mrs. Roberts received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and her Masters in Educational Leadership from Prairie View A&M University. Mrs. Roberts is an active member of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) and recently presented at the summer conference on “Building and Achieving a Positive School Culture” in Austin. She has been selected to represent the TASSP as a Region 4 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year. TASSP recognizes outstanding principals and assistant principals from the twenty Region 4 Education Service Centers in the state. As a Region 4 winner, Cheryl Roberts is eligible to compete for the state title of Texas Principal (or Assistant Principal) of the Year. In addition, she is also a new member of Eta Omega in the Chapter Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators.

Cheryl's husband, Curtis Roberts, is an instructor at Brazoswood High School and teaches AP Physics.

Mrs. Ross is a product of Brazosport ISD. She started at Roberts Elementary, went through Lake Jackson Intermediate, and graduated from Brazoswood High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education K-12 from Briar Cliff College and her Master in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin.

Mrs. Ross is married to her husband Greg and they have one son, Tanner. Mrs. Ross loves to hang out with her family, go out to eat, and watch movies. She also enjoys singing at church, exercising, and reading.

Mrs. Ross has taught music and choir over many grade levels in BISD; including Lake Jackson Intermediate. She has worked with many teachers, staff, parents, and students over the years. She is dedicated to continuing our students’ success and providing a safe place where everyone can work, grow, and thrive. Where students can walk away with opportunities before them whatever their future brings!

I am honored to return to my alma mater and to have this chance to work alongside a great staff.

Mrs. Amy Mancano begins her 13th year in education, a journey marked by a commitment to nurturing young minds. Her odyssey commenced in the vibrant halls of Crowley ISD, where she ignited a passion for science. This fervor propelled her through subsequent chapters in Burleson ISD and Joshua ISD, each contributing to the tapestry of her experience.

Elevating her vocation, she assumed the role of District Science Content and Curriculum Coordinator within a prominent DFW charter district. Here, her influence expanded beyond the classroom, shaping the educational landscape with her expertise.

Her academic foundation was laid at the University of Central Florida, where she pursued her undergraduate degree. Further enriching her intellect, she pursued her Masters in Educational Leadership at Texas Christian University.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Mrs. Mancano finds fulfillment in her role as a partner to Jim, a mother to three accomplished adults, and a cherished Grammy to four precious granddaughters.

Mr. Owens is starting his 30th year in education, with his 3rd year at Brazosport ISD. Mr. Owens began his career teaching in the Oklahoma City area, teaching middle school students. He went on to teach at the high school level until moving to Texas. He has taught US History and Government. He taught both On-Level and Advanced Placement courses at the high school level. He had coached football for 17 years and basketball for 20 years. He started his administration career at Oklahoma City Schools and then moved to the district he grew up in for 3 more years.

Mr. Owens moved to Texas in 2018 to be an assistant principal at Fairfield JH in Fairfield, Texas. After 3 years there, he found his way to BISD to be an assistant principal at Brazoswood High School for 2 years. He now finds himself at Lake Jackson Intermediate looking forward to the opportunities available here.

Mr. Owens received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, and his Masters in Educational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University.
