BISD Students Participate in Essay Competition on Dr. King’s Vision

This is the image for the news article titled BISD Students Participate in Essay Competition on Dr. King’s VisionCongratulations to Lake Jackson Intermediate School’s 8th grade students Amy Lee and Joy Trevino-Allen for their award winning participation in the essay competition hosted by the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee.

This year’s prompt read, “How can you educate to motivate your community about Dr. King’s dream and vision?” Amy won first place in her age group and received a Kindle Fire and a set of Bluetooth speakers. Joy placed third and received $75. LJI teacher, Tara Rice, is extremely proud of both students and continues to delight in reading their writing.

The The MLKCC Contest is open to all Brazoria County students from 6th through 12th grade. Students from both LJI and FIS participated in the competition.
