March 20, 2019 was the annual You Be the Chemist Challenge and the following six LJI students qualified to compete in the competition which hosted a total of 40 students from schools in BISD and Angleton ISD.
The top ten students from the competition will advance to state, which will be held in April in Houston. Of our six LJI students who competed, we had five qualify for state and LJI had the highest number of qualifiers for a school!
The top two winners at state will have a chance to compete at a National competition held in Washington D.C. Please congratulate the following students for advancing to state:

Alisa Zamora (4th Place)
Erin Dy (Top 10)
Daniel Lemonds (Top 10)
