LJIS Robotics Club

Lake Jackson Robotics Club Sponsors, Mrs. C. Wood and Mrs. A. Brod, accompanied LJI’s 7th and 8th grade teams to the Sugarland Qualifying Tournament on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Both Robotic Teams performed spectacularly. Out of the 27 teams who competed at the tournament, our 7th-grade Robo-Cats took a trophy for Best Design and our 8th-grade Robo-Panthers took the Overall Championship! The Robo-Panthers now qualify for the Houston FLL Championship Tournament which will be held Saturday, February 4th at the British International School Houston.
We are so proud of our students for all the hard work and effort they put into their projects. Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Brod would also like to give a huge thank you to our business sponsors, Olin, Dow, and the Brazos Section of the International Automation Society and especially our mentors, Mr. D. Wood, Mr. A. Pierluissi, Ms. A. Olson, and Mr. J. Sibley. Your assistance and mentorship to our students was key to their success. Thank you very much!
